Information We Collect

Memex is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:

• Analytics data: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics such as screen views, feature usage, and app lifecycle events. This helps us improve the app. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
• Crash reports: We collect anonymous crash reports to identify and fix bugs.
• Purchase information: If you make a purchase, payment processing is handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive subscription status information but do not have access to your payment details.

Local Data & iCloud

Memex works primarily with local files on your device, synced via iCloud Drive. Your media files, documents, annotations, and reading progress remain on your device and in your iCloud account. We do not have access to your files. AI transcription features run entirely on your device using local models.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Anonymous analytics data is processed by PostHog.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months. You can request deletion of any data associated with your device by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

Memex is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
